Tips to Sticking Magnetic Signs
There are a few tips to sticking magnetic signs to cars that can help to ensure that they stay stuck. Here are some tips to straighten out your magnets after they have been removed from their packaging:
1. After removing your magnets from their package, place them on a hot, smooth surface (we suggest that you the hood or roof of your car in direct sunlight) for at least a few hours to return them to their original flat shape. Another way to smooth out any wrinkles is to apply heat from a hair dryer to the surface of your magnet.
2. If storing the sign flat, it should be kept completely flat on a level, smooth surface. Do not place objects on top of the sign which can damage the face. Do not stack two signs with the magnetic material facing each other.
3. To guard against dirt buildup, you should remove the sign daily from your vehicle to inspect and clean. You should re-apply a fine quality car wax to the painted surface holding a magnetic sign on a weekly basis. At least once a week, the signs need to be pulled, cleaned/inspected—twice a week if it rains.
Wondering if Vehicle Magnetics are right for you? It depends on the vehicle; if the door is made of fiberglass or plastic instead of metal, or if the car has been in a wreck and the car door was repaired using Bondo , you can buy Car Door Decals instead of magnetic door signs.
