We are providing you with the following vinyl lettering guidelines to ensure that your vinyl lettering is properly attached and will last for a very long time, continuing to look extraordinary:
Before You Apply:
- First, the area on which you are applying the vinyl lettering needs to be prepped with an alcohol based liquid, such as Windex.
- Before securing the vinyl to the window, the area should be clean and dry.
- Next, the vinyl should be taped for measuring with masking tape.
- Using a tape measure, measure the height and width of the vinyl, so that it can be centered across the window area.
Applying Your Flexible Vinyl Lettering:
- After finding the center point, apply the masking tape across the top of the piece of vinyl.
- Next, peel the backing off of the vinyl and locate a squeegee.
- Starting from the top, apply the squeegee firmly in both vertical and horizontal directions across the vinyl.
- The squeegee should stay in direct contact with the surface of the vinyl as much as possible in order to prevent air bubbles upon completion.
- When finished, peel the top layer off of the vinyl to view the finished product.
Perfecting Your Vinyl Lettering:
- If any “air bubbles” are present, an Exacto knife blade (or any object with a sharp point) can be used to gently punch a hole in the bubble.
- After puncturing the bubble, gently rub a finger over the hole. This allows air to release from the bubble and the vinyl to adhere to the window.
