Install Static Cling

These instructions list the tools and steps you'll need to know how to apply Static Cling on the Outside of your window. Following these "Static Cling - Outside Glass" guidelines will ensure that your window cling will look amazing when installed and will last its full life expectancy. Notes About Static Cling Installation:

Static clings can be applied to dry or wet surfaces.
Medium- to large-sized static clings should be applied wet and with the backing still attached.
Small static clings (<12”) may be applied on dry, clean surfaces.

Install supplies for Static Cling Outside Glass

Tools Needed:

Two people, MASKING tape (scotch tape may damage material), squeegee, glass cleaner, and paper towels.

Preparation:

Using glass cleaner, clean windows thoroughly and allow to dry. Read installation instructions carefully. Best installed when outside temperatures are over 65F with low humidity.

Use the tape measure to find the center point at which to place your Static Cling.

Step 2

Leaving the protective backing on, tape the top of the Static Cling to the window, with the graphics facing you.

Step 3

Have your partner lift the Static Cling while you remove a portion of the protective backing, starting from the top and pulling downward about 6". Make sure it stays taped to the window.

While your partner continues to lift the Static Cling away from the window, spray the surface of the window liberally with water.

Step 5

Have your partner lay the exposed portion of Static Cling down onto the window. Continue peeling away 6" sections of the backing at a time as you squeegee from top to bottom. Once the graphic is fully-applied, squeegee from the center toward the outer edges to remove air bubbles.

Tip: Cover the squeegee with a paper towel or soft cloth to prevent it from scratching the material.

Step 6

Remove the masking tape and squeegee the top of the Static Cling. Finish by wiping down the edges of the cling with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.

You're done! Once the installation is complete, your Static Cling is ready to grab attention and promote your business.

Install Tips for Static Cling Outside Glass

Perfecting Your Static Cling:

Static window clings are easy to remove and reposition if you are not happy with the installation. Gently remove and reposition your cling as desired, making sure that the material never makes contact with itself.

If you would like to reuse your Static Cling, we recommend storing the paper backing and packaging for safe storage.
