Mesh Banner
Significantly Reduce Wind Load

A Mesh Banner is a superior choice to combat the wind when compared to traditional wind slits. Wind slits weaken the banner's initial integrity and can lead to ripping or fraying, negating the overall durability of the banner.

Our Mesh Banner is an 8 oz. top coated and made from high-quality polyester scrim to reduce high wind forces.

It has slit-like tiny holes supported by crisscrossed fibers to allow 37% air flow and enhanced image quality, which is perfect for viewing small text and fine details from afar, like when you have event graphics displayed on protective barricades.

Understanding Mesh Banner
Options
Grommets
Grommets are the most common way to display a banner. One can used with zip ties, ropes, & bungee cords. Our silver nickel grommets are in each corner and every 2-3 feet along the top and bottom edges. The placement distributes the weight of the banner evenly and keeps it from sagging. The size #2 grommets have inner diameter of 0.5 inch, and the outer of 0.75 inch.  To avoid any text or images from being punched off, best practice is to keep the design away from 1 inch edges
Reinforced Edges
When displaying a Banner outdoors, wind will cause more wear and tear as it tugs and pulls on the Banner’s attached bungees or fixtures. For 2X the durability, we offer reinforced edges to absorb most of the pressure. It will add 1” of extra material to the top and bottom edges, which we fold over, and then hem them to create strong, finished edges.

Mesh Banners for Your Outdoor Advertising Needs

Most people are aware of vinyl banners and understand that they can provide great advertising both indoors and outdoors. However, not as many people are aware of another great option for signage that is ideal for outdoor applications: mesh banners.

Mesh banners are made of a woven plastic material that includes slit-like small holes throughout the entire banner. This allows wind to easily pass through without creating a high “wind load” that can lead to fraying and tearing, as often happens with traditional vinyl banners. It’s very different from vinyl banners, which are made of a solid polyvinyl chloride (PVC) material that does not allow air or water to pass through at all.

Custom Mesh Banners that Look Great Outdoors

Mesh banners usually cost a little more than a vinyl banner, but the cost can easily be justified for most outdoor applications because they provide better value over time since you won’t need to replace them as often.   Mesh banners make more sense for:
  • Construction banners displayed on fencing
  • Banners on scaffolding
  • Banners on barricades at large outdoor events, concerts, or festivals
  • Banners displayed at outdoor arenas and sporting events
  • Café and restaurant banners displayed in
  • outdoor seating areas
  • Custom banners that cover speakers at a concert
  • Windbreaks on a tennis court or golf driving range School posters (sponsors, events, announcements) displayed on fences

For Mesh Banner

Reduce Wind Load

Custom mesh vinyl banners have small slits throughout the entire banner so when viewed at a distance you can’t tell the slits are there. The image displayed is more seamless and looks better even when it’s displayed outdoors.

Improve Lifespan with a Mesh Banner

Since vinyl banners do not allow air to flow through, they can easily catch the wind and turn into a “sail” when you display them outdoors. That puts a lot of pressure on the outer edges and can cause the banner to tear if the wind is strong or sustained.   In old times, vinyl banner printing companies can add wind slits to a banner to allow for some airflow. These are usually large enough that they are noticeable, and create a less-than-ideal visual display. The slits can also tear or fray in the middle of the banner, making it harder to read and causing damage.

With Mesh banner, the wind can pass through uninhibited without tearing the outer edges of the banner. This generally means that your banners will last longer and you won’t have to constantly replace them.

Strengthening Your Mesh Banners

Signazon uses a durable material to make mesh banners that will reduce wind load while also staying strong for several months or even years. Our quality printing ensures that even small graphics and details are visible from a distance on mesh banners.

To get a stronger mesh banner that is even more long-lasting, consider adding grommets (small metal rings) to the holes around the edges. You can also opt for reinforced edges for twice the durability so they absorb any pressure from wind that can’t pass through the slits.

Use our pre-designed templates to create your custom banners or put your own design into our custom vinyl banner software. We offer fast and easy mesh banner printing and shipping, and exceptional customer service for a better buying experience.

Mesh Banner File Preparation

Design Guidelines

Have a design file ready for print? We recommend that you review the following guidelines before placing your order.
Total File Size With Bleed (H x W):
Finished Product Size (H x W):
Understanding File Setup
Bleed Area Add 0.125in.
Extend your background to fill the full "bleed area." This will make sure you do not end up with white edges when your product is cut.
Finished Project Size What you selected on this page
This is where we aim to cut your final product size.
Safe Zone Inset 0.125in.
Keep all of the important elements of your design-text, logo, icons-inside this area. It's okay for backgrounds and images to run all the way to the bleed area.
What type of files will you accept?
We recommend vector-based .PDF design files. Most major design applications can generate a print-ready .PDF by using the Save As feature and selecting “Adobe PDF.” If you are unable to obtain a .PDF file for your design, the best are those in .EPS or .AI (CS3 or higher) format with all text converted to outlines.
Recommended file types:
Vector-based .PDF, .PS, .PSD, or .EPS. Vector-based Adobe Illustrator .AI
Other accepted file types:
.PNG, .TIF, . BMP, .GIF, or .JPG
