Clear Window Decals

 For clear products, our design guidelines recommend vector-based PDFs without backgrounds for best results. If your proof shows a white background, it's coming from your original file.

How Our System Handles Backgrounds:

Raster files (PNG and JPG): Our system automatically attempts to remove the background by identifying and removing the most common background color. Your proof will display with a transparent grid (checkered pattern) where the background was removed.

• Works best with: Single, solid background colors
• Less effective with: Gradients or multiple background colors

True Vector files (PDF, AI, EPS, SVG): These files preserve layers and transparency from your design software. Our system attempts background removal similar to raster files, but because vectors can have multiple layers, results may vary.

Solution: Check Your Proof Carefully,

• Transparent grid showing? You're all set! 
•  Still see white background or some elements should be clear but still white? Add the design service from your cart page. Our graphics department will manually review your file and send you a corrected proof after your order is placed.

Clear window decals are printed on transparent vinyl with a special white ink backing. 

We do not offer background colors on clear material because they end up looking washed-out and won't match the vibrant color you see in your proof.

If you'd like a colored background, we recommend using white vinyl instead—it will give you the rich, bold colors that match your design perfectly!

Black text won't show up well on glass windows—it tends to disappear or be very hard to read. Here's what happens:

The Problem: When you apply a clear decal with black text to a window, the text doesn't have a solid background behind it. Instead, people see whatever is behind the glass—which could be:

• Dark interior walls or furniture
• Shadowy areas inside your space
• Nighttime darkness
• Dark clothing or objects

Black text simply blends into these dark backgrounds and loses visibility.

The Solution:  White or light-colored text creates strong contrast no matter what's behind the glass. It's clearly readable in all lighting conditions—during the day, at night, from inside, or from outside. This is why you see most professional window graphics using white or light text!

Design Tip: If you absolutely love your black text, consider adding white color outline on the text.
