Clear vinyl decals and static clings are a perfect solution for businesses who are looking for full-color, highly-radiant and appealing window sign but still want to keep visibility. Signazon.com offers white ink printing technology, which means that artwork printed on Clear Vinyl and Clear Static Cling can be opaque color (solid), white, and transparent color (similar to stained glass). The ability to print solid white ink on a clear material is a revolutionary ability. Our guidelines will help you to understand how to create your design based on your desired results.
Opaque Color (Solid) Text or Images
What you need to do:
Nothing. Our software will recognize colors and automatically create a solid image.
Explanation:
The red computer mouse that you see in this image is an example of opaque (solid) color printing. The design is printed in color, and then a white layer of ink is placed behind the color to create a solid image. Opaque printing on a clear material can be done in any custom color. Our software recognizes color and automatically applies a white layer behind the color to ensure that it prints solid.
White Text or Images
What you need to do:
Add a 1% cyan fill in the CMYK settings of your text or images.
Explanation:
With our unique printing ability, we are able to print solid white as you see in the “Clear Vinyl” text. The versatility of white ink printing allows for solid white text/images on a transparent clear background or a transparent color background. White is not recognized as a color by our software since in design programs it is actually the absence of color. A 1% Cyan fill will tell our machines to print white ink. Without a 1% cyan fill, any “white” will not print; the Clear Vinyl/Static-Cling will show through on the design.
Transparent Clear Background
What you need to do:
- If the background of your design is white:
Nothing. White is the absence of color and will not print.
- If the background of your design is not white:
Specify your intent in your Order Notes.
Explanation:
Transparent clear is the complete absence of printing, as you can see in the background of this design. Any white background will print clear as white is not recognized by our software. If your design has another background color but you want it to be clear (such as a black/grey background used only to make white text visible for editing), explain this in your Order Notes.
Transparent Color Background
What you need to do:
Specify your intent in your Order Notes.
Explanation:
The blue box across the top of the design is an example of transparent color printing. This is called a “direct print” which prints the images directly onto the transparent material in any color and does not include a white ink backing. Because there is no white backing you can see directly through the printing, however the colors do appear less vivid. Lighter colors may not be as noticeable as darker colors. To achieve a transparent color background (like stained glass), please explain this in your Order Notes.
Note: Signazon.com is not responsible for clear designs printed incorrectly if not specified in the Order Notes.
